US-Poland Trade Is Steadily Growing
Former United States Navy officer Ernest Jacquet earned an MBA in finance from Stanford University. A practicing private equity professional, Ernest Jacquet is the managing partner of Freedom Capital Partners, a private investment company that acquired Polonez Parcel Service in 2017.
Polonez Parcel Service is the largest shipping company specializing in shipments between the United States to Poland. In business for more than 30 years, Polonez Parcel Service facilitates parcel and vehicle shipments between the two countries and rents shipping containers to support additional trade. Going forward, the company hopes to capitalize on increasing trade between the two countries.
US-Poland trade has been increasing steadily since 2013. In 2018, the US exported about $5.4 billion in goods to Poland and imported $8 billion in goods. This was an increase from $4.5 billion in exports and $7.1 billion in imports in 2017.
A similar growth trend is noticeable in 2019. In February, Poland was the 36th largest trading partner of the United States. Top US exports to Poland that month comprised civilian aircraft parts, petroleum gases, oil, plumbing equipment, and motor vehicle parts. Top imports from Poland that month were aircraft engines, motor vehicle parts, furniture, pork meat, and orthopedic appliances and prosthetics.

Judging Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Candidates
An accomplished investment professional and business leader, Ernest Jacquet serves as managing partner of Freedom Capital Partners and as chairman of International Package Shipping. Among other significant accomplishments, Ernest Jacquet has been a National Judge for the Ernst & Young’s (EY) annual Entrepreneur of the Year award on 10 separate occasions.
Each year, EY invites an independent panel of business, civic and community leaders from around the world to serve as judges for Entrepreneur of the Year candidates. In recent years, most of these judges have had significant experience with previous Entrepreneur of the Year programs.
Entrepreneur of the Year judges receive essential information about each final candidate before they meet as a unified body. They are encouraged to interact with one another as well as with Entrepreneur of the Year finalists to perform comprehensive assessments according to a range of specified criteria. In addition to evaluating the general entrepreneurial spirit of each candidate, judges look closely at his or her general strategic direction, leadership, value creation capabilities, personal integrity, ability to innovate, and overall national/global impact.
Typically, there are over 100 applicants for each category of “Entrepreneur of the Year” –technology, retail, manufacturing and etc. Ernest Jacquet’s engineering degrees in Marine Architecture and Computer Science assisted him is narrowing down the candidates each year. In addition, Mr. Jacquet has served on over 12 public and private Boards of Directors and has experience starting several companies including Parthenon Capital which now manages over $4 billion.
